Nana gets an award with a proud smile!
On June 27, the production team of Memorials released another set of stills of its lead actress Nana.
Memorials, also known as Into the Ring and The Ballot, is KBS2’s new office rom-com starring Nana and Park Sung-hoon (Psychopath Diary). It follows a confident and bright woman, Goo Se-ra (Nana), who comes from a poor background and works various jobs to make ends meet. Unable to keep herself from getting into other people’s business, she constantly files civil complaints in the local ward office, earning her the nickname “Queen of Civil Complaints.” She meets Seo Gong-myung (Park Sung-hoon), a demoted public officer who sticks to his principles and is quite the opposite of Se-ra when it comes to personality.
In the stills, Se-ra is shown getting a plaque of appreciation with a big smile on her face. The one who is giving her the award and applauding beside her is Won So-jeong (Bae Hae-sun, Hi Bye, Mama!), the mayor of Mawon-gu, where Se-ra lives. At the back, a person with a camera is seen capturing Se-ra’s moments as she smiles with pride.
The production team said, “Nana [in the show] receives a Brave Award. This is the most impactful scene and is an important starting point for the story development. We ask [the] viewers for [their] interest and expectations as to why Nana won the Brave Award in the series and what performance we will see in the show.”
This isn’t the first time Nana and Park have worked together, as they have both already appeared in another KBS2 drama Justice back in 2019. Interest and anticipation are focused on the transformation of Nana as the vibrant and optimistic Goo Se-ra. The idol-turned-actress is a member of the K-pop group After School and has gained popularity through the series she has taken part of over the years such as The Good Wife (2016) and Kill It (2019).
KBS2’s new drama Memorials will premiere tonight, July 1, at 9:30 p.m. KST, taking over the Wednesday and Thursday time slot occupied previously by Soul Mechanic. The series is directed by Hwang Seung-gi, who also directed Radio Romance in 2018.
In the meantime, you can check out the first teaser and other stills of the main characters here.
