Nam Joo-hyuk to star in Netflix original series ‘School Nurse Ahn Eun-young’

Nam Joo-hyuk, who is starring in the ongoing fantasy drama The Light In Your Eyes, has been confirmed to headline an upcoming Korean Netflix original series titled School Nurse Ahn Eun-young.

The series, which is based on a novel with the same title by author Jung Se-rang, centers on a fearless and bright nurse named Ahn Eun-young. She possesses a supernatural ability to drive, albeit hilariously, bad spirits away. When she becomes a newly-appointed school nurse, she discovers a mystery in her new workplace. Jung Yu-mi (Live) was cast in December 2018 to play the titular character.

Nam Joo-hyuk will star as Hong In-pyo, a Korean literature teacher in a high school run by his family. He is protective of his students and has a limp because of an injury caused by a car accident during his childhood. After meeting newly appointed school nurse Ahn Eun-young, he will become her partner in exorcising evil spirits.

School Nurse Ahn Eun-young is Nam Joo-hyuk’s fourth series with him playing the lead role, following Weightlifiting Fairy Kim Bok-joo, Bride of the Water God, and the currently airing The Light In Your Eyes. It will be directed by Lee Kyung-mi, film directors of The Truth Beneath and Crush and Blush, and penned by Jung Se-rang.

The 6-part Netflix original series will be available exclusively on Netflix in 2020. It is the latest addition to Netflix’s growing library of Korean original series, which include KingdomMy First First Love, Me Alone and You, and Love Alarm.
