Rising actor Bae In-hyuk might join lead actress Seo Hyun-jin in the upcoming SBS series Why Oh Soo-jae?
On June 1, Bae’s management agency Fides Spatium revealed, “Bae In-hyuk received an offer to appear and is considering it.”
Set within the walls of a law school, Why Oh Soo-jae? is described as a detailed melodrama about the romance between a law student and a professor. Earlier, Black Dog (2019–2020) star Seo Hyun-jin was cast for the titular role of Oh Soo-jae, an eccentric, bad-tempered, and mean professor.
Bae In-hyuk, on the other hand, is being roped in to portray Choi Yoon-sang, a younger guy who developed a crush on Soo-jae while she was tutoring him for an exam. Years later, Yoon-sang meets Soo-jae again at a law school.
Having previously impressed viewers with his performances in MBC’s XX (2020) and The Spies Who Loved Me (2020), Bae is currently essaying his first main role in the fantasy rom-com drama My Roommate Is a Gumiho (ongoing).
If he accepts the proposal, the 23-year-old newbie artist will be continuing his major-acting streak, as he has also been confirmed to appear in the upcoming series Blue Spring From a Distance.
Why Oh Soo-jae? is penned by screenwriter Kim Ji-eun of Lie After Lie (2020) and is set to be helmed by While You Were Sleeping (2017) director Park Soo-jin.
