Moon Geun-young to return to small screen with ‘Catch Yoo Ryung’

Moon Geun-young will return to the small screen with tvN’s new mini-series, Catch Yoo Ryung, her first drama in four years since The Village: Achiara’s Secret.

Catch Yoo Ryung is a romantic investigative series about a newbie subway patrol officer and the misadventures she faces in pursuing what is right. Moon Geun-young will play the titular character, Yoo Ryung, a young, vibrant woman who works for the Wangshimni Subway patrol team. While she is passionate about doing the right things and catching the bad guys, she has a tendency to be clumsy at work which causes her and her teammates to face more troubles.

Meanwhile, Kim Seon-ho has been confirmed earlier as the male lead in the drama. He will play the role of a detective named Go Ji-seok.

Moon Geun-young started her career in her younger years. She rose to stardom in 2000 after playing the younger counterpart of Song Hye-kyo’s character in the hit drama Autumn in My Heart and gained more fans as she appeared in more dramas and films including My Little Bride, A Tale of Two Sisters, Empress Myeongsong, and Life is Beautiful. She also appeared in South Korean variety and reality shows where she displayed her unique and youthful charm. Her three most recent TV dramas include The Village: Achiara’s Secret (2015), Jung-yi: Goddess of Fire (2013), and Cheongdamdong Alice (2012-2013).

Catch Yoo Ryung will be directed by Shin Yoon-seob of Rooftop Prince and penned by writers Lee Young-joo and So Won. It will be broadcast in the second half of 2019.
