‘Men Are Men’ drops romantically symbolic first poster, revealing July 6 premiere

Upcoming KBS2 rom-com series Men Are Men has released an initial thought-provoking promotional poster.

Men Are Men, featuring main cast members Hwang Jung-eum (Mystic Pop-up Bar, ongoing), Yoon Hyun-min (My Holo Love), and Seo Ji-hoon (Welcome), tells the story of a woman who has decided to spend her life alone after getting hurt a couple of times in past relationships. However, she gets caught up in a playful twist of fate when two guys simultaneously vie for her love.

The teaser poster emanates a “valentine card” type of vibe, laid out in hues of red and pink. It pulls the attention of its viewers towards the broken heart at the center where the words “MARRY ME” are scribbled. Interestingly, tiny hearts make their way through the crack, hinting that an unexpected romance is set to blossom and help what was once believed to be a permanently severed heart beat for love once again.

Displayed in artistic fonts at the bottom of the poster are the series’ title and premiere date, “2020.07.06.”

Hwang Jung-eum will play the female protagonist Seo Hyun-joo, head of a webcomic planning team, while her co-stars Yoon Hyun-min and Seo Ji-hoon suit up as pharmaceutical company CEO Hwang Ji-woo and webcomic writer Park Do-gyeom, respectively.

Men are Men, previously known as That Guy is the Guy, takes on a whole different texture as it depicts existing societal issues between maidenhood and the human nature of finding companionship and love in another person.

The drama is spearheaded by the director-writer duo Choi Yoon-suk (Queen of Mystery 2) and Lee Eun-young (Sweden Laundry) and is scheduled to air every Monday-Tuesday at 10:00 p.m. (KST).
