SBS confirmed on June 21 that Yeo Jin-goo (Circle), Lee Yeon-hee (Splendid Politics), and Ahn Jae-hyun (Cinderella and Four Knights) will be playing the leading roles in the upcoming fantasy drama Reunited Worlds.
Reunited Worlds is fantasy romantic comedy about two childhood friends who are born in the same year but have been aging at different paces so that when they meet again when the woman (Lee Yeon-hee) is 31 years old, the guy (Yeo Jin-goo) is still much younger at 18. It is still unclear, however, as to which character is aging faster or slower. Meanwhile, Ahn Jae-hyun will play a chef-restauranteur who will become Yeo Jin-gu’s rival for Lee Yeon-hee’s affections.
Yeo Jin-goo can be seen in the currently airing science fiction drama, Circle. Meanwhile, Ahn Jae-hyun was last seen on television in 2016’s Cinderella and the Four Knights and has been busy appearing in reality shows like Newlywed Diaries and New Journey to the West. It’s also been months since Lee Yeon-hee starred in a drama (Splendid Politics in 2015) and it seems that 2017 is a busy year for her as she has also been confirmed to play a leading role in the JTBC drama The Package, which is set to broadcast after Woman of Dignity and Age of Youth 2.
The supporting cast of the drama consists of DIA’s Jung Chae-yeon (Drinking Solo) who accepted the offer to play the younger version of Lee Yeon-hee’s character, Lee Shi-eon (Man to Man), Park Jin-joo (Jealosuy Incarnate), and Ahn Gil-kang (Mystery Queen).
The cast of the drama will meet on June 22 for their first script reading and will commence the shooting on June 24. The drama will air after Suspicious Partner ends on July 13, so the production team of Reunited Worlds has about one month in preparation for the premiere day. If SBS decides to air it one week after Suspicious Partner airs its finale, Reunited Worlds will air on July 19, 2017.
Reunited Worlds is written by Lee Hee-myung and to be directed by Baek Soo-chan who both worked together previously in The Girl Who Sees Smells and Beautiful Gong Shim.
