Lovestruck in the City Episode 2: Ji Chang-wook falls for a terrible woman

Lovestruck in the City Episode 2 takes us on a rollercoaster ride of emotions after the series’ premiere episode hooked us deep into the drama’s urban-themed romantic storylines and unique production format. Bearing the gasp-worthy subtitle How Do You Initiate Your First Sex?, below are some episode highlights which, at some point, totally left us picking our jaws up off the floor.

Tackling that bold question everyone’s too shy to answer

Right off the bat, the interviewer asks our six characters, “How do you initiate your first sex?” All of them seem to have been slightly taken aback by the bluntness of the question, except Oh Sun-young (Han Ji-eun), who openly and casually said, “I usually start with a one-night stand, when I’m drunk.” When asked if she regrets doing them come morning, she replied, “No, why would I regret it?” Meanwhile, Park Jae-won (Ji Chang-wook) and Lee Eun-oh (Kim Ji-won) agree that regardless of the things that lead up to it, both of them plainly like kissing and sex.

The next scenes then travel back in time to relive Choi Kyung-joon (Kim Min-seok) and Suh Rin-yi’s (So Joo-yeon) first night together. To be fair, apart from that hilarious and “popping” incident which ends up putting off their steamy plans to a much later date, the “main event” was actually all kinds of sweet and innocent.

Eun-oh aka Yoon Seon-a pushes through with her goal of helping Jae-won get his driver’s license. She drives his camper van to a spacious private school and drafts him his very own practice track. Later, Jae-won finds an opportunity to return the favor and offers to Seon-a a one-on-one surfing session with him. After bravely conquering her fears overnight, Seon-a takes the offer. Then, the two of them go straight to suiting up for their wet and wild adventure.

Seon-a and Jae-won’s surfing session ends abruptly when the former crashes with another surfer and hits her head on the bedrock. But the scene shifts from being alarming to sensual real quick when Jae-won accidentally touches her lips as he dries her hair with a towel. Unexpectedly sucked inside a whirlpool of romance, the two give in to their feelings by passionately sharing their first kiss, which soon leads to spending their first night together.

What does silence mean?

In the middle of their lovemaking, Jae-won looks straight into Seon-a’s eyes and utters, “I love you,” to which, she gently responds with a mysterious smile. He claims that at that time, it was enough for him to believe they were going somewhere. At present, however, he has become bothered by her silence then as he insists that though they only knew each other for just a week, he was confident and sure of how he felt about her. On the other hand, Seon-a thinks it was merely a spur-of-the-moment confession.

Jae-won calls Seon-a a terrible woman

Shining with delight for what happened last night, Jae-won gets out of his campervan only to see Seon-a getting a little too comfy with another man. In fact, from where he’s standing, the two appear like a real happy couple. Looking back to that moment, Jae-won says, “You know what? I bet she planned to toy with me from the start.” Seon-a fires back, “We had sex once. What’s the big deal about that?” Having exposed herself as one of the interviewees, Jae-won hits again by calling her out, “Hey, you are a terrible woman.” Suddenly, she backs down and agrees with him before revealing that she only did what she did because the woman Jae-won fell for was not the real her. That he loved her alter ego Yoon Seon-a, the free-spirited and bubbly girl, not Lee Eun-oh, the reserved city marketer.
