Upcoming MBC every1 romantic youth drama Love Is Annoying, but I Hate Being Lonely has announced to premiere on August 11.
Featuring lead stars Kim So-eun (That Man Oh Soo) and Ji Hyun-woo (Love in Sadness), Love Is Annoying, but I Hate Being Lonely is a modern romance story that depicts the stark truth of how romantic relationships are perceived by today’s youth. It centers on two young people residing in a shared house who both want to date but do not like being burdened by relationship commitments. However, they are soon confronted by the realization that enjoying their freedom may also mean they would have to spend the rest of their lives alone.
Kim So-eun takes on the character Lee Na-eun, a freelance copy editor who aspires to become a novelist. She has a generous heart and does not tolerate injustice. Because Na-eun avoids getting romantically tied up with anyone, she has not had a boyfriend in four years. Her feelings are bound to change, however, when she stays in a co-living space with psychiatrist Cha Kang-woo (Ji Hyun-woo), a single man in his 30s who tends to get curious about people. Doctor Cha is scared to form an intimate relationship with a woman due to his traumatizing past, but he is now finding it difficult to control his growing emotions for his housemate, Na-eun.
Joining Kim and Ji in the drama are cast members Kim San-ho (Home for Summer), SUPERNOVA’s Geonil (One Fine Week), Han Ji-wan (Rugal), B1A4’s Gongchan (To My Name), Cha Soo-yeon (Good Casting), Son Ji-hyun (When the Devil Calls Your Name), Shin Ha-young (Soul Mechanic), and singer Noh Ji-hoon in his small-screen debut. Along with its broadcast confirmation, the series also shared that it has recently pre-sold in three other Asian countries, including Japan.
Love Is Annoying, but I Hate Being Lonely is penned by screenwriter Jo Jin-kuk of Fated to Love You (2014) and helmed by PD Lee Hyun-joo of Imaginary Cat (2015–2016). The MBC every1 original drama is scheduled to air every week at 10:50 p.m. KST.
