Lim Na-young, Kim Soo-oh, Choi Byung-mo join cast of new tvN drama ‘Flower of Evil’

Upcoming tvN psychological thriller series Flower of Evil has announced actors Lim Na-young, Kim Soo-oh, and Choi Byung-mo as the newest additions to its strong lineup of supporting cast members.

Flower of Evil tells the story of Baek Hee-sung (Lee Joon-gi), a psychopath who takes on another person’s identity to lead a normal wedded life with his wife Cha Ji-won (Moon Chae-won), a homicide detective. On the outside, Hee-sung looks like an ideal husband and father who works hard in his own metal-working studio in order to provide for his family. However, when his wife gets assigned to a gruesome case, she soon discovers that Hee-sung may not be the simple craftsman he claims he is.

Upon picking up clues pointing that the evil lunatic she is chasing may be the one who has been sleeping next to her for the past 14 years, Ji-won sets out on a mission to dig deeper and expose his dark past in order to protect their daughter. Then begins an intense emotional struggle between the couple as they are confronted by a secret that can shake their harmonious marriage and perfect family to the ground.

Lim Na-young’s small-screen experience includes only a cameo appearance in the 2016 series Entourage. The singer and budding actress is yet to mark her official acting debut in the current drama. Lim plays as the young Do Hae-soo, daughter of a serial killer who was left alone to strive past her terrible family history. Actress Jang Hee-jin (Babel) will portray the grown-up version of the character.

Meanwhile, rookie actor Kim Soo-oh started his acting career four years ago and has played supporting roles in dramas like Person Who Gives Happiness (2016–2017) and School 2017. He will be taking a huge leap further as he has been offered a major supporting role in the drama. Kim suits up as Detective Lim Ho-joon, the brilliant and energetic young partner of Detective Cha Ji-won. Detective Lim will be supporting and learning from his senior as they work on numerous disturbing cases.

Choi Byung-mo has also joined the series and is set to play a character that will add tension to the plot as it develops. The actor has most recently gained positive attention for his work in the drama Spring Turns to Spring (2019). In this project, viewers are excited to witness another remarkable performance from him as he acts alongside lead actor Lee Joon-gi.

Flower of Evil is helmed by director Kim Cheol-kyu of Confession (2019) and is penned by screenwriter Yoo Jung-hee of Naked Fireman (2017). It is set to air every Wednesday and Thursday at 10:50 p.m. KST starting July.
