Bring Me Home, an upcoming thriller movie which marks Lee Young-ae‘s return to the big screen after 14 years, released promotional posters featuring the actress and her co-stars Yoo Jae-myung and Park Hae-joon.
Directed and written by a rookie director named Kim Seung-woo, Bring Me Home tells the story of a mother whose son has been missing for six years. The film is expected to be an intense, unpredictable thriller and has been invited to the prestigious 44th Toronto International Film Festival.
The first poster features Lee Young-ae who depicts the sense of loss and guilt that comes with having lost one’s child, along with a quiet determination to find him. Lee stars in the movie as the mother who has been looking for her son for six years. One day, she receives a tip and goes to a village to find him. Her poster reads, “I’ll be sure to find you.”
Lee Young-ae was last seen playing a lead role on film in Sympathy for Lady Vengeance (2005). She had since gone on hiatus before returning to the small screen in 2017 with the historical series Saimdang, Light’s Diary.
The second poster features Yoo Jae-myung (The Beast, My Fellow Citizens) and reads, “You know I am a police officer?” The actor essays the role of a cop and is shown wearing a police uniform—with an expression of curiosity on his face—and looking arrogant and charismatic. His character is described as being in conflict with Lee Young-ae’s and a source of tension in the movie.
Meanwhile, Park Hae-joon (Cheer Up, Mr. Lee, Arthdal Chronicles), who plays Lee Young-ae’s husband, is also featured in the third and final poster. His expression suggests sympathy and concern as he travels to find his kid, who he believes “will surely come back” to them.
Bring Me Home also stars younger actors Lee Won-geun (Rosebud, Jugglers) and Kim Lee-kyung (Metamorphosis, Less Than Evil). It will be released on November 27.
