Lee Yoo-young, Lee Min-ki team up for new drama from PD of ‘Cheese In The Trap’

Fans of Lee Yoo-young, the lead actress of the recently concluded drama My Fellow Citizens, will not have to wait until next year to see her again on the small screen as she has been confirmed Wednesday to star in a new OCN drama called Everyone’s Lies opposite actor Lee Min-ki.

The upcoming series tells the story of a woman who enters the National Assembly and teams up with a detective in order to find the truth behind the disappearance of her husband and the sudden death of her father.

Lee Yoo-young signed up for the role of Kim Seo-hee, the youngest daughter of a highly respected lawmaker named Kim Seung-chul. She looks classy and gorgeous but pales into significance when compared with her older sister who is good at everything. Although she is a disappointment to her family, she is still her father’s favorite child, which is why when he gets killed during a car accident and her husband disappears, she becomes a member of the parliament to find the truth.

The car accident case involving Assemblyman Kim is assigned to a detective named Jo Tae-sik, to be played by Lee Min-ki, who quickly realizes that there is more to the “accident” than meets the eye. Jo Tae-sik is described as an affectionate man who appears to be cold and lives a quiet life working at the police station of a peaceful village in the countryside. Due to the car accident case, he ends up returning back to catching criminals day and night and meets Kim Seo-hee. He is the kind of detective who relies on his talent, determination, and luck to do his job well.

Lee Min-ki was last seen playing a lead role on TV in the 2018 fantasy romantic comedy The Beauty Inside. In Everyone’s Lies, he will be reunited with PD Lee Yoon-jung who directed his 2007 drama Taerung National Village.

Lee Yoon-jung, one of the only few female drama directors in South Korea, is the talent behind the popular series Coffee Prince. She directed Argon and Cheese In The Trap in 2017 and 2016, respectively.

Everyone’s Lies will be produced by Studio Dragon and broadcast in the second half of 2019.
