Lee Yoo-ri, Yeon Jung-hoon’s new drama ‘Lies of Lies’ reveals premiere date, drops main poster

Along with the announcement of its September 4 premiere, Channel A’s upcoming series Lies of Lies (literal title) has unveiled its main poster, featuring lead stars Lee Yoo-ri (Spring Turns to Spring) and Yeon Jung-hoon (Possessed).

Lies of Lies is a suspense melodrama about true love that begins with a woman’s lies so she could become the stepmother of her own biological daughter.

It follows the story of Ji Eun-soo (Lee Yoo-ri), the daughter-in-law of a chaebol family who was accused and convicted of murdering her husband shortly after their marriage. Upon her release, she sets out to get her daughter back, a child whom she had birthed in prison and never got to spend time with. Eun-soo approaches Kang Ji-min (Yeon Jung-hoon), a reserved reporter and the adoptive father of her daughter. To carry out her plan of staying close to her daughter again, Eun-soo pretends to fall in love with Ji-min while having an ulterior motive of marrying him.

In the main visual for the drama, Ji Eun-soo radiates a mysterious aura, with her eyes full of emotion, as she stares straight back to the spectators of the poster. Her expression conveys the profound sadness of a mother who had to go through an unimaginably difficult phase in her life. On her shoulder line is the phrase, “My life is a dangerous lie,” which amplifies the viewers’ curiosity on how her tale will unfold.

In addition, Kang Ji-min’s blurry silhouette is also captured as he passes by Ji Eun-soo. Will Ji-min stop and unknowingly take Eun-soo’s fake love, or will he get on with his normal life and walk past her? Interest is also growing in the relationship between the two protagonists and how they would possibly deal with the truth when it finally comes knocking on their door.

Lies of Lies is helmed by Kim Jeong-kwon and penned by Kim Ji-eun of Enemies from the Past (2017–2018). It is scheduled to air as a Friday-Saturday drama.
