Actress Lee Yo-won has been confirmed as the female lead in the upcoming spy drama Lee Mong or Different Dream (English translation) which is being produced to mark the 100th anniversary of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea. Originally, actress Lee Young-ae had been cast to play the role but she decided to step down due to conflicts in her schedule.
On August 15, a source from the production company stated that Lee Yo-won, along with actor Yoo Ji-tae, will be appearing as the main lead of Different Dream and the drama will start filming in October and is expected to be broadcast in the first half of 2019.
Different Dream is set during the Japanese colonial period of Korea (1910-1945) and centers around a surgical doctor named Lee Young-jin who is adopted and raised by a Japanese couple and later hired as a spy by the Provisional Government of Korea based in Shanghai. Lee Yo-won will be playing the role of Lee Young-jin while Yoo Ji-tae takes the role of Kim Won-bong, the leader of a secret society fighting for Korean independence.
