Lee Yi-kyung takes on lead role in ‘Red Moon, Blue Sun’

Actor Lee Yi-kyung has been confirmed to headline an upcoming MBC drama called Red Moon, Blue Sun, about a woman who has lost everything after an accident that happened and confronts many incidents while trying to find out the truth behind the accident. Kim Sun-ah (Should We Kiss First) is currently in talks to play the heroine.

Lee Yi-kyung will portray a character named Kang Ji-heon, a violent crimes detective with a strong faith in justice and law. He looks like an easygoing person on the outside, but there are incidents from his past that make it hard for him to express his emotions freely. Meanwhile, Kim Sun-ah’s character is described as a woman who works at a children’s center and enjoys life with a satisfying workplace, caring husband, and affectionate daughter until she gets caught up in a huge incident that changes her life.

The actor most recently appeared in the MBC drama Investigation Couple. His casting in Red Moon, Blue Sun marks his second leading role in a drama, following Welcome to Waikiki. He also appeared in the following series: SuitsGo Back Couple, Mirror of the Witch, and Descendants of the Sun.

Red Moon, Blue Sun will be helmed by PD Choi Jung-kyu of Triangle and Two Weeks and penned by Do Hyun-jung of The Village: Achiara’s Secret and Can Love Become Money. It will premiere in November 2018, replacing currently airing drama Terius Behind Me on the Wed-Thu time slot.
