Lee Sun-kyun, Jung Ryeo-won face off in first promos from ‘Diary Of A Prosecutor’

JTBC started promoting its upcoming drama Diary Of A Prosecutor (also called War Of Prosecutors) with a teaser video and poster featuring leads Lee Sun-kyun and Jung Ryeo-won.

Based on a novel of the same name, Diary Of A Prosecutor follows the everyday life of prosecutors who work no differently than most salarymen. Lee Sun-kyun stars in the series as a complacent public prosecutor in his local district who holds no ambition. The drama marks his return to the small screen after over a year. He was last seen in the critically-acclaimed 2018 Korean drama My Mister, along with Lee Ji-eun (IU).

Meanwhile, Jung Ryeo-won, who played a lead role last year in the romantic comedy Wok of Love opposite Lee Jun-ho, takes on the role of a spunky elite prosecutor who was steadily climbing the ladder to success in the Central District Prosecutors’ Office in Seoul, before being unceremoniously transferred to a small branch office where Lee Sun-kyun’s character works.

The teaser makes it obvious that the two prosecutors will clash heavily, owing to differences in their ways of working and philosophies. While Lee’s character is senior to Jung’s, she does not consider him more experienced because he’s been working in a small office all his life. Thus, lines are drawn, walls and built, and the two prosecutors declare war on each other.

The poster, similar to the teaser, shows the two prosecutors wearing their prosecutor robes and facing off with each other. The caption reads, “It’s become clear. It’s war.”
