tvN’s upcoming mystery-thriller series Mouse has unveiled its main poster featuring lead stars Lee Seung-gi and Lee Hee-joon!
Set in a futuristic world where technological advancements can detect potential psychopaths through a DNA test on the fetus inside the mother’s womb, the story aims to pose a question for the viewers to ponder on, “Would you give birth to a child knowing they are a psychopath?” It stars Lee Seung-gi as a kind and passionate neighborhood policeman and Lee Hee-joon as a lawless detective whose parents’ death when he was a child has pushed him to seek justice no matter what he resorts to. When a criminal goes on a killing rampage, both law enforcers set off to hunt the trail of the vicious killer who belongs to the top 1 percent of psychopaths.
In the released main poster, both stars pose dramatically, with determination on their faces. Lee Seung-gi is dressed neatly in a police officer uniform, while Lee Hee-joon is wearing a thick aviation jacket. While Lee Seung-gi has a somewhat focused and calm gaze, Lee Hee-joon has an unreadable expression that gives off an unsettling vibe. It makes the viewers question what kind of detective he is and to what lengths he is willing to go to in order to achieve his goals.
Lee Seung-gi and Lee Hee-joon looking at two different directions in the poster is raising questions about whether it indicates that the two characters are pursuing two different goals even when they are working together. Furthermore, the unusual atmosphere between the two is raising anticipation on whether they will form an unbreakable alliance or a tight rivalry in solving the murder cases. On the middle of the poster is a chilling tagline that reads, “He is hunting people.”
Both Lee Seung-gi and Lee Hee-joon showed their hard work and passion by fully studying the content and depth of their own character. When they shot the poster, they were able to showcase the essence of the drama and their characters’ complexities. The production crew commented, “Because of their full understanding of their characters, we were left in awe of how the two veteran actors were able to convey the story through their gaze in just one poster. We ask everyone to look forward to the drama Mouse and witness how Lee Seung-gi’s and Lee Hee-joon’s characters, who have completely different tendencies and circumstances, will end up in the story.”
The drama marks both actors’ comeback on the small screen, following Lee Seung-gi’s Vagabond in 2019 and Lee Hee-joon’s Mistress in 2018. Other notable actors in the series include Park Ju-hyun (Zombie Detective), Kim Kang-hoon (Mr. Queen), Kim Young-ok (The King: Eternal Monarch), Kyung Soo-jin (Hush), Ahn Jae-wook (Five Enough), Kim Jung-nan (Tale of the Nine Tailed), and Pyo Ji-hoon (More Than Friends).
tvN’s new Wednesday and Thursday drama Mouse is directed by PD Choi Joon-bae of Come and Hug Me (2018) and writer Choi Ran of God’s Gift: 14 Days (2014) and Black (2017). It is scheduled to air on March 3 at 10:30 p.m. KST.
