Lee Kwang-soo courted to headline upcoming fantasy drama

Lee Kwang-soo is in talks to lead the upcoming drama Hero, his agency King Kong by Starship confirmed on January 6.

Following news reports that the actor will take on the main role of the drama, his entertainment company shared with media outlet YTN Star, “Lee Kwang-soo [received] an offer to appear in the drama Hero, and he is positively [reviewing] it.”

Hero is described as a fantasy-action melodrama that centers on an era when it has become difficult to distinguish who is a hero and who is evil within the society. The story will follow a jobless prosecutor who develops a special ability. Lee is in discussions to suit up as Oh Gyu-tae, a prosecutor who got fired after losing his temper during a trial. Gyu-tae has an extremely strong sense of determination and justice and tends to meddle with other people’s affairs. He is also a gifted athlete, having been training in boxing since he was young. Earlier reports have confirmed that The King: Eternal Monarch actor Woo Do-hwan also received a proposal to essay the same role.

Lee Kwang-soo boasts of notable small-screen and silver-screen acting profiles. He has previously joined the cast of the dramas It’s Okay That’s Love (2014), Entourage (2016), Hwarang (2016–2017), and most recently, Live (2018).

Hero is currently under negotiations with broadcasting channels. Its programming schedule is yet to be decided.
