Lee Joon-hyuk confirms lead role in time-slip thriller ‘365: A Year Against Destiny’

Lee Joon-hyuk is now confirmed as the male lead in the MBC drama 365: A Year Against Destiny, which is an adaptation of the Japanese thriller novel Repeat.

365: A Year Against Destiny is a time-slip thriller set in a world where time travel is possible. It focuses on ten people who travel back a year in time to live their lives without mistakes and regrets. In doing so, they tip over the delicate balance between their past and present selves and get wrapped up in mysterious complications that arise from time travel.

Lee Joon-hyuk will be playing a detective in the violent crimes unit. Several years ago, as a traffic police officer, he arrested a wanted criminal which led to his promotion. Since then, however, he lives an unmotivated existence—even going as far as to read webtoons while on his undercover missions. He is one of the ten people who will “reset” their lives and go back a year in time, but a series of mysterious happenings will prompt him to uncover the truth behind time-traveling.

Lee Joon-hyuk has been consistently proving his mettle as an actor with hard-hitting performances in dramas like Secret Forest (2017), A Poem A Day (2018), Designated Survivor: 60 Days, and most recently, The Lies Within. He managed to portray a range of characters—from villains to undercover agents—to rave reviews, and his fans are looking forward to his new project.

365: A Year Against Destiny will be helmed by PD Kim Kyung-hee of Lucky Romance (2016). It is aiming to be broadcast in the first half of 2020.

Meanwhile, Nam Ji-hyun (100 Days My Prince) has been offered the female lead role.
