Lee Joo-young will be appearing in the much-awaited Netflix original series The School Nurse Files (also known as Nurse Teacher Ahn Eun-young), which is set to premiere on Netflix on September 25, as confirmed by the streaming giant.
The School Nurse Files tells the story of a newly hired school nurse named Ahn Eun-young, who has the gift of seeing supernatural phenomenon and things that ordinary people cannot see. These include the jelly-like particles called “jellies” that hold the greed of the living. She meets Classical Chinese teacher Hong In-pyo, who accidentally opens a chamber of these jellies. To make matters interesting, Eun-young eventually finds out that In-pyo is actually her cure. The series stars Jung Yu-mi (Live) and Nam Joo-hyuk (The Light in Your Eyes).
On August 17, Lee Joo-young’s agency Y1 Entertainment has announced that the actress will be joining the cast as Han Ah-reum, a teacher in the same school where Eun-young and In-pyo are working. The actress has appeared in two series in the past, Just Dance (2018) and Live (2018).
The School Nurse Files is adapted from the novel “School Nurse Ahn Eun-young” by Chung Se-rang, who also penned the script for the drama. The author won the Hankook Ilbo Literary Award in 2017 for her work “Fifty People.” Lee Kyoung-mi (Persona) has directed the series.
