Lee Jong-suk courted for reunion drama with ‘While You Were Sleeping’ PD

After almost two years of acting hiatus due to his military enlistment, Romance Is a Bonus Book (2019) star Lee Jong-suk is finally back and is now in discussions for a potential comeback drama.

One of the reported project proposals given to Lee is Big Mouth, a new drama by While You Were Sleeping (2017), Hotel del Luna (2019), and Start-Up (2020) producing director (PD) Oh Choong-hwan. This was confirmed by Lee’s agency A-MAN Project, who announced that the actor has received an offer for the drama and that they are still discussing the proposal.

Big Mouth will follow a third-rate lawyer who accidentally takes on a murder case and digs deeper into the truth, eventually risking his life and his family’s safety. If he accepts, Lee will play the lead role of Park Chang-ho, a lawyer with a winning percentage of only 10 percent. He gets his nickname “Big Mouth” for talking big but showing no results. Because of this, he gets a low salary and cannot afford to pay for his office’s rent and the salary of his manager, who is also his father-in-law, on time. After getting involved in a dangerous case, he is forced to become more evil than villains in order to protect himself and his family.

Apart from Big Mouth, Lee Jong-suk is also in talks to make a cameo appearance in the sequel of the movie The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion (2018) by PD Park Hoon-jung of Night in Paradise (2020). The actor also received an offer to join the upcoming action film Decibel by PD Hwang In-ho of Monster (2014).

Screenwriters Ha Ram, Jang Young-chul, and Jung Kyung-soon will be teaming up for Big Mouth‘s script. Filming is slated to begin in the second half of the year.

It was Princess Lulu who first introduced her to Korean dramas but it was Yoon Ji-hoo from Boys Over Flowers who enticed her to stay in K-dramaland. She writes news and features for Kdramapal, which combines two of her most favorite things in the world—writing and K-dramas (look who's living the dream). The name Luna literally translates to "moon" and nothing special; she just likes writing at night.
