Upcoming KBS2 historical drama When Flowers Bloom, I Think of the Moon is working to realize a Lee Hye-ri and Yoo Seung-ho pair-up!
A representative from Lee’s agency Creative Group ING stated, “Hye-ri is considering to appear in KBS2’s When Flowers Bloom, I Think of the Moon after receiving a proposal to play the female protagonist.” Earlier this month, actor Yoo Seung-ho (Memorist) was reported to be in talks for the drama.
When Flowers Bloom, I Think of the Moon will be set in the Joseon Dynasty, at a time when the kingdom has placed the strongest prohibition laws that only awakened people’s desires. It centers on three main characters: a prosecutor from the Ministry of Justice who went to Tokyo to raise his family, a poor woman who started making alcohol to pay off her debt, and a crown prince who constantly sneaks out of the palace to drink. The story begins when the three of them fatefully cross paths in front of a liquor warehouse and learn a secret that can ruin each other’s lives once revealed.
Lee Hye-ri is famous for her roles in the dramas Reply 1988 (2015–2016) and Miss Lee (2019). The 26-year-old actress is recently on the radar as she will be making a comeback to the small screen this year with her new romantic-fantasy series with actor Jang Ki-yong (Born Again). Meanwhile, viewers are curious to see whether or not Lee and Yoo Seung-ho will accept their respective casting offers for the upcoming drama.
Set for helming by director Hwang In-hyuk of Doctor Prisoner (2019) and penned by screenwriter Kim Joo-hee, When Flowers Bloom, I Think of the Moon targets to air during the second half of this year.
