Only a few days after the premiere of his rom-com drama Sweet Munchies, rising actor Lee Hak-joo is already reported to appear in the upcoming JTBC series Private Life.
Private Life follows the lives of con-artists as they get unintentionally entangled in private matters of national scale and consequently, go against massive corporations.
Lee Hak-joo will suit up as Myeong-hyun, a detective with inherent intuitive skills. He uses them to find every single clue there is to unravel the cases assigned to him. Lee will be joining previously confirmed cast members Go Kyung-pyo (Cross), Kim Hyo-jin (Strangers 6, Marry Me, Mary!), Girls’ Generation member Seohyun or Seo Ju-hyun (Hello Dracula), and Kim Young-min (The World of the Married).
The actor has gained positive regard from both fans and critics for his performance in the recently crowned “Highest-rated Korean Cable Drama of All Time” The World of the Married (2020), where he exchanged enraging lines with veteran actress Kim Hee-ae. Lee also portrayed supporting characters in past notable projects such as Mr. Sunshine (2018), Memories of the Alhambra (2018–2019), and Be Melodramatic (2019).
Private Life will be helmed by director Nam Gun of Temperature of Love (2017) and penned by screenwriter Yoo Sung-yeol of My Beautiful Bride (2015). It is scheduled to air in the second half of 2020.
Meanwhile, you can watch Lee Hak-joo’s transformation into a fashion designer in Sweet Munchies every Monday and Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. KST on JTBC or through any of these streaming platforms available to you.
