Lee Elijah joins Lee Jung-jae, Shin Min-ah in political drama ‘Aide’

Actress Lee Elijah will join the cast of the upcoming political drama Aide starring Lee Jung-jae and Shin Min-ah.

Lee Elijah’s casting in the series was confirmed by her agency, King Kong by Starship, on March 28. According to a representative from the agency, “It is true that Lee Elijah joined JTBC’s new drama, playing the role of Yoon Hye-won, a political aide.”

Aide (also known as Advisor) centers on political advisors who control Korea’s political landscape. Lee Jung-jae (Triple) will play Jang Tae-joon, an investigator-turned-advisor who wants to reach new heights in his already successful political career, while Shin Min-ah (Tomorrow With You) signed up for the role of Kang Sun-young, a former lawyer and news program host who becomes a lawmaker and dreams of breaking ground in politics.

Meanwhile, Lee Elijah took on the role of Yoo Hye-won, a level 6 advisor and highly capable secretary who works in the same office as Jang Tae-joon. Passionate about her job, she worked hard to achieve her current status, which is even higher than Jang’s level 4.

In South Korea, members of the National Assembly (the country’s law-making body) have nine aides. They have two level 4 advisors, two level 5 secretaries, an intern, and one each for levels 6 to 9.

Lee Elijah was recently seen in the SBS drama The Last EmpressShe previously played memorable supporting roles in Miss Hammurabi and Fight For My Way.

Helmed by Kwak Jung-hwan of Miss Hammurabi and penned by Lee Dae-il of Life On Mars, Aide will premiere on JTBC as a Friday-Saturday drama in May.
