JTBC’s Law School has officially confirmed its premiere date, along with the release of the drama’s main poster.
The upcoming Wednesday and Thursday drama follows the mystery that unfolds inside Korea’s most prestigious law school, where its top professors and best students get entangled in an unprecedented incident. Featuring the main and supporting cast members, the poster unveils the brewing tension between the characters, led by Criminal Law professor Yang Jong-hoon (Kim Myung-Min, The Miracle We Met), Civil Law professor and Legal Clinic Center director Kim Eun-sook (Lee Jung-eun, Once Again), law school president Oh Jung-hee (Gil Hae-yeon, Beyond Evil), and Constitutional Law professor Kang Ju-man (Oh Man-seok, Sweet Munchies), who each stands their ground with determination.
Their majors, origins, and educational methods are also very different. Jong-hoon, a former prosecutor, keeps pushing the students to go beyond their limits. On the other hand, Eun-sook, a former judge, is popular among the students because of her enjoyable lessons and fun personality. As a former Supreme Court Justice, Jung-hee maintains a seasoned and modest attitude for the development of the school, switching methods between principle and practicality. Meanwhile, Ju-man pursues perfection with strict education and difficult exams.
The school’s top students are also diverse. Han Joon-hwi (Kim Bum, Tale of the Nine Tailed), who passed both the police and bar exams, is one of the school’s shining students with a brilliant career ahead. Kang Sol (Ryu Hye-young, Dear My Room) and Kang Sol (Lee Soo-kyung, Where Stars Land) are two students who have the same name but have very different backgrounds and ways of survival. Seo Ji-ho (David Lee, Itaewon Class), who thinks of law school as an opportunity to raise his status after his family goes bankrupt, studies hard and only aims to work for big law firms. Jeon Ye-seul (Go Yoon-jung, Sweet Home) is a hopeless romantic who diligently studies. Yoo Seung-jae (Hyun Woo, Woman of 9.9 Billion), who entered law school as a doctor, struggles to survive with no legal knowledge among his younger classmates.
In the poster, the characters show the qualities they need to survive in law school. The production said, “10 law school members showcase their cool and intelligent charisma to complete the perfect legal drama. On April 14, the mystery surrounding the characters who will take on the case will finally be unveiled. We ask for your interest and support for the characters who will pursue truth and justice through the law.”
Law School will air on JTBC on April 14, at 9 p.m. KST.
