Girl group f(x) member Krystal and actor Jang Dong-yoon have been cast in the new OCN military drama called Search.
Search tells the story of a military search team in the Korean demilitarized zone (DMZ) as its members encounter monstrous creatures and struggle to escape from the area and survive.
The story of the drama unfolds when a military dog handler named Goo Dong-jin from the Western Front Army Command is sent on a detached duty assignment to the search party in the DMZ. With one month to go before his discharge, the military dog he is in charge of deserts the army and mysterious events start to take place in the area. This role will be played by Jang Dong-yoon, who was last seen playing the lead in the 2019 fusion sageuk The Tale Of Nokdu opposite Kim So-hyun.
Meanwhile, Krystal will take on the role of lieutenant Son Ye-rim, an elite army officer from the chemical, biological, and radiological warfare unit of the western front headquarters. She is described as someone with great stamina and a brilliant brain who wants to excel at everything she does. Krystal previously headlined the 2018 drama The Player along with Song Seung-heon.
Search will be directed by Im Dae-woong of the 2012 horror omnibus film Horror Stories. It will premiere in May.
