Korean Drama Rating from October 23 to 29, 2017

Last week saw no major achievement in viewership and every drama is like in a maintain-the-status-quo mode. Witch’s Court was still rising while 20th Century Boy and Girl suffered from its lowest rating; Avengers Social Club and Hospital Ship were keeping While You Were Sleeping from gaining double-digit viewership. As for the rest—nothing special.

Korean Drama Rating Highlights

1. Witch’s Court dominates Monday-Tuesday slot. This legal drama has really unseated Temperature of Love from the top spot in ratings and although its weekly high (11.0 %) is lower than what it got last last week (12.3 %), it has sustained its double-digit viewership. It implies that more and more viewers have turned to KBS2 to watch this show, including even those who were following Temperature of Love‘s story for some time. As a result, it is now occupying the top spot of the ranking below.

2. Avengers Social Club maintains above-5% ratings. tvN’s revenge drama has achieved over 5 % in viewership ratings for four consecutive episodes. This is quite amazing and one of the reasons why While You Were Sleeping could hardly break through 10 % again. While the other viewers have been enjoying the fantasy romance drama and Hospital Ship, a significant portion of the audience have been eagerly waiting for Wednesdays to come to watch Avengers Social Club.

3. While You Were Sleeping edges out Hospital Ship. This has been going on for weeks, suggesting that although many viewers are going crazy over While You Were Sleeping, there are still those loyal viewers of Hospital Ship who are keeping the medical drama’s ratings on a par with the former.

4. 20th Century Boy and Girl records lowest rating. This rom-com’s struggles to pull in decent numbers has continued, as manifested by the consecutive 3.0 % (lowest rating to date) it recorded on Tuesday night. With the rise of Witch’s Court, this suffering is inevitable.

Me? Just an ordinary lad with an extraordinary (says this something called 'stereotype') habit of watching Korean dramas. It started with action-filled City Hunter and the rest, as they say, is history.
