Kim Yoo-jung leaves SidusHQ, signs exclusive contract with Park Seo-joon’s agency

Popular actress Kim Yoo-jung has taken a big step forward by signing an exclusive contract with her new agency, Awesome ENT Co., Ltd.

Earlier reports revealed that Kim had considered leaving her home label of 10 years, SidusHQ, to explore the fresh possibilities that other agencies have to offer. On the 23rd, Awesome ENT officially confirmed the news and welcomed the actress to their family. The agency’s CEO, Yang Geun-hwan, remarked on the exciting development, “Kim Yoo-jung is an irreplaceable figure among actors in their 20s who excel at showing complex emotions.” Hinting on what the company has in store for the actress, Yang said, “We will act as a supportive force that will help Kim Yoo-jung continue her active undertakings here and abroad.”

In 2003, Kim Yoo-jung debuted as an advertising model at the tender age of four. In 2004, she ventured into acting and quickly became one of the most in-demand child actresses in South Korea. She played unforgettable roles as the young version of the female protagonist in various dramas, including Princess Hours (2006), Dong Yi (2010), and The Moon Embracing the Sun (2012). In 2016, Kim’s first lead role in the historical drama Love in the Moonlight brought her to international stardom and sealed her reputation in the local entertainment industry. She then went on to headline the series Clean with Passion for Now (2018–2019). Following the recent wrap-up of her latest romantic-comedy drama Backstreet Rookie (2020), Kim is reportedly taking a break while reviewing possible future projects.

Awesome ENT was incorporated as a subsidiary of KakaoM last year and has laid the foundation for strengthening not only its management business but also its content business competency. Top actors such as Park Seo-joon (Itaewon Class), Han Ji-hye (Golden Garden), and Lee Hyun-woo (The Liar and His Lover), as well as newcomers Bae Hyun-sung (Hospital Playlist) and Kim Do-wan (She Knows Everything) are signed under its care.
