Kim Tae-hee to make drama comeback in fantasy series opposite Lee Kyu-hyung

Kim Tae-hee has been confirmed Thursday to return to the small screen with a starring role in the tvN fantasy series Hi Bye, Mama! This is her first drama since the 2015 medical series Yong-pal.

Hi Bye, Mama! tells the story of a mother who is given an opportunity to return to his family as a ghost after passing away due to a tragic accident. Kim Tae-hee signed up for the role of Cha Yu-ri, whose soul is unable to leave the world behind due to her desire to hold her daughter in her arms. Fortunately, she is given the chance to be with her family again for 49 days.

Meanwhile, Lee Kyu-hyung (Doctor John) will be taking on his first lead role in a drama in the upcoming series. He is also confirmed to play Jo Kang-hwa, Cha Yu-ri’s husband and a thoracic surgeon who struggles with the death of his wife and first love. He is deeply affected by the loss of Cha Yu-ri that even his personality starts to change. When Cha Yu-ri shows up in front of him looking exactly the same as before she left, his life is shaken again.

Lee Kyung-hyung debuted as a television actor in the 2015 drama Unkind Ladies. He has since appeared in six more series, namely Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth (2016-2017), Goblin (2016-2017), Secret Forest (2017), Prison Playbook (2017-2018), Life (2018), and Doctor John (2019).
