Kim Tae-hee prays to see her daughter in second teaser for ‘Hi Bye, Mama!’

tvN has dropped another funny teaser for Kim Tae-hee‘s comeback drama Hi Bye, Mama!.

The fantasy drama tells the story of a mother, played by Kim Tae-hee (Yong-pal), who returns as a ghost after her death to watch over her daughter. In order to win back her life, she sets out to complete a reincarnation project in 49 days. Lee Kyu-hyung (Doctor John) takes on the role of Kim Tae-hee’s husband who is shocked by the reappearance of his wife who died five years ago.

Despite the heavy and emotional premise, the teasers for the show have kept a bright and comedic tone. This 35-second teaser opens with Kim Tae-hee kneeling inside a church, praying, “Please let me look over my daughter a bit more. Amen.” She is seen trying every trick in the book, from praying to different gods in different temples to placing stones on top of each other to make a wish, getting increasingly frustrated with every try.

Suddenly, she lands up at a bus stop surrounded by women, extremely conspicuous in her bright pure-white dress. She laughs as she narrates, “And that’s how I got reincarnated.”

tvN also dropped another set of posters for the drama. The first poster depicts a scene from the line of vision of Kim Tae-hee’s daughter in the show, portrayed by child actress Seo Woo-jin. Lee Kyu-hyung and Go Bo-gyeol (Arthdal Chronicles) can be seen with their arms outstretched, beckoning the child to them, but their faces are blurred. Meanwhile, behind them stands Kim, looking ethereal in a white dress.

In the second poster, Seo Woo-jin has already run into Kim Tae-hee’s arms. Lee Kyu-hyung and Go Bo-gyeol can only be seen from the back, their faces turned towards the smiling mother-daughter duo.

Hi Bye, Mama! is Kim Tae-hee’s first drama in almost five years. It will premiere in February after the conclusion of Son Ye-jin and Hyun Bin’s Crash Landing On You.
