Kim Sun-ho cast in new drama from ‘Hotel del Luna’ director

After wrapping up Catch The Ghost, actor Kim Sun-ho has already announced his new project. He has been cast in the tvN drama Sandbox, which will be helmed by director Oh Choong-hwan of Hotel del Luna (2019) and Doctors (2016).

Set in Korea’s equivalent of Silicon Valley, Sandbox tells the story of a woman who drops out of college with the aim of starting her own company and becoming as successful as Steve Jobs. She meets a former math wiz who is now running a failing tech company. The two fall in love and offer each other support as they try to launch the next start-up with the potential of becoming the next Google or Amazon. The series is courting Bae Suzy (Vagabond) and Nam Joo-hyuk (The Light In Your Eyes) for the lead roles.

Kim Sun-ho has been roped in to play the head of a successful venture capital firm who is the idol of anyone trying to launch a start-up. Despite his arrogant and harsh behavior towards his colleagues and juniors, he is still much sought-after because of his expertise in the field. Kim has had a busy 2019, with back-to-back leading roles in Catch The Ghost and Welcome To Waikiki 2.

Sandbox is written by Park Hye-run who penned While You Were Sleeping (2017), which is also directed by PD Oh Choong-hwan. Park has also written acclaimed dramas like Page Turner (2016), Pinocchio (2014-2015), and I Can Hear Your Voice (2013).

The series is aiming for broadcast in the second half of 2020.
