Kim So-hyun, INFINITE’s L get high praises for “Ruler: Master of the Mask” performance

The production team of the upcoming MBC historical drama Ruler: Master of the Mask commended Kim So-hyun and INFINITE’s L for their performances and attitudes in the set.

Kim So-hyun plays the role of Han Ga-eun in the drama. The production staff members said she maintained professionalism throughout the shooting. In January, MBC released new stills showing Kim’s character taking care of a sick child. When they filmed that scene, the temperatures dropped. The staff commended her because she did not complain about the weather and she delivered what was expected of her.

More on the child actor she worked with, the production team revealed when the cameras were not rolling, Kim remained affectionate with the child as she placed a hot pack over his bare hands. She also continued to talk with the child actor because she wanted him to be more comfortable on set. A staff member added, “Kim So-hyun is cheerful and kind both on and off camera, making her the best energizer. Kim So-hyun’s bright smile helps everyone on set have a good time while filming.”

K-pop idol L of INFINITE also performed well and showed a different side of him. He was able to show off his acting and fighting skills for his role in the drama. This is not the first time that L became part of a Korean drama as the acting credits under his name include My Lovely Girl and Cunning Single Lady. Ruler: Master of the Mask, however, is his first historical drama.

In the latest stills released by the network, it showed L battling it out with Yoo Seung-ho. The staff complimented L regarding his dedication for filming the fight scene with Yoo. The co-stars of L also commended his work for the upcoming historical drama noting that he was very professional and did not show signs of tiredness. Just like Kim, L also talked to the child actor whenever they had breaks from filming.

Ruler: Master of the Mask centers around the story of Joseon Crown Prince Lee Sun (played by Yoo Seung-ho) who fights against an organization called Pyunsoo-hwe that has gained power and wealth through the privatization of water supply all over Joseon. He brings hope for the people who has suffered from all the injustices brought upon them.
