JTBC’s upcoming series Private Life has added actor Kim Seo-won to its cast!
Private Life revolves around a group of swindlers who come across a matter of national concern. Using all their skills in manipulation and deception, they must go against a large corporation and succeed. It stars Go Kyung-pyo (Cross), Girls’ Generation member Seohyun (The Time), Kim Hyo-jin (Strangers 6), and Kim Young-min (The World of the Married).
Kim Seo-won will play the husband of Yang In-suk (Yoon Sa-bong, Good Casting), a former gang leader, and they run a pork rib restaurant together. He is pleasant, quirky, and charming, and he will play an important role in helping Cha Joo-eun (Seohyun) and his wife In-suk.
Kim is expected to undergo a visual transformation to suit his character, catch the viewers’ attention, and double the fun of watching the drama. As such, his character is one of most anticipated personas in the series. The actor is relatively more active in film projects and has only appeared in two other series in the past, My Country: The New Age (2019) and Dr. Romantic 2 (2020).
Meanwhile, lead star Go Kyung-pyo will play the mysterious Lee Jung-hwan, the team leader of one of the major electronic corporations in the country. While pretending to be a team leader, he crosses paths with Cha Joo-eun. Joo-eun is a full-time swindler who deceives people using her innocent look and charms. Joining them are Kim Hyo-jin, who will play the elegant and charismatic Jung Bok-ki, a professional fraudster whose victims are fellow crooks, and Kim Young-min, who will portray Bok-ki’s partner, Kim Jae-wook.
The series will mark Go Kyung-pyo’s first drama after being discharged from his mandatory military service last January and end Kim Hyo-jin’s hiatus from drama projects since the conclusion of her last series Strangers 6 in 2012.
Other notable actors joining the cast are Tae Won-seok (Nobody Knows), Lee Hak-joo (Sweet Munchies), Yoon Jung-hoon (Oh My Baby), Park Sung-geun (Memorials), Song Seon-mi (Love Alarm), Cha Soo-yeon (Good Casting), Kim Ba-da (Tell Me What You Saw), and Jang Jin-hee (Team Bulldog: Off-duty Investigation).
Private Life is scheduled to air sometime in September, taking over JTBC’s Wednesday and Thursday 9:30 p.m. (KST) time slot currently occupied by Was It Love?. It will be directed by Nam Gun (Temperature of Love) and penned by Yoo Sung-yeol (My Beautiful Bride).
