SBS’s Racket Boys has presented its cast in initial character immersion through a set of stills from its first script reading.
Set against the background of a far-flung rural village, Racket Boys follows 16-year-old middle school boys and girls as they strive to make it in the competitive world of badminton.
Spearheading the drama’s table read are director Jo Young-kwang (Heart Surgeons) and screenwriter Jung Bo-hoon (Prison Playbook). They were joined by main cast members Kim Sang-kyung (Miss Lee) and Oh Na-ra (Chip In), both of whom are said to have rendered great voice acting when they transformed into their roles as badminton coaches.
In addition, young stars Tang Jun-sang (Crash Landing on You), Son Sang-yeon (Failing in Love), Choi Hyun-wook (Taxi Driver), Kim Kang-hoon (Mouse), Lee Jae-in (Beautiful World), and Lee Ji-won (The Uncanny Counter) reportedly served impressive reading skills at the table work as well.
The production company behind Racket Boys said, “As the protagonists in Racket Boys came to life during the script reading, the fresh scent of grass at a rural village and the smell of sweat inside a busy court flooded our senses. Please look forward to our badminton story.”
Racket Boys is slated to air in the first half of this year.
