Kim Sa-rang reunites with Kim Eun-sook in ‘Mr. Sunshine’

Kim Sa-rang became the latest addition to the cast of star writer Kim Eun-sook‘s drama, Mr. Sunshine. The actress will be reuniting with the writer after working with her in Secret Garden seven years ago. She is up to play a woman who has been married to a Japanese man by her pro-Japanese father, inherits her husband’s business after he passes away suddenly, and meets Lee Byung-hun‘s character later on. 

Kim Sa-rang’s role will try to win the heart of a soldier, played by Lee Byung-hun, and create a rivalry with Kim Tae-ri‘s character, a noblewoman who has caught the heart of the soldier. Mr. Sunshine is a period romance drama set in the beginning of the 20th century and revolves around a US Marine Corps Officer played by Lee. When he was a child, he was taken to the United States during a U.S. military expedition to Korea that turned into armed conflict. Years later, he comes back to his homeland as an American soldier and falls in love with the daughter of one of the most influential families in Joseon at that time.

Mr. Sunshine will be broadcast on tvN in the first half of 2018.
