It’s confirmed! Stars Kim Rae-won, Lee Jong-suk, Cha Eun-woo, Jung Sang-hoon, Park Byung-eun, Lee Sang-hee, and Jo Dal-hwan are headlining the upcoming urban-terrorism slash action flick Decibel.
Decibel revolves around an impending terrorist attack, which is believed to be connected to a submarine incident that occurred a year ago.
Kim Rae-won (Crazy Romance) takes on the role of a Navy commander who must race after a ruthless terrorist in order to stop a sound-responsive bomb from exploding at the heart of their city. V.I.P. (2017) actor Lee Jong-suk suits up as a Navy captain who has built a strong camaraderie with his entire submarine crew. Lee and Kim are expected to show great acting synergy as they try to get to the bottom of the case throughout the movie.
In his first major film role, Astro’s Cha Eun-woo (My Brilliant Life) becomes a young and reliable Navy crew who is in charge of their submarine’s sound navigation and ranging. Versatile actor Jung Sang-hoon, who previously impressed viewers in Love, Again (2019), turns into a brave field reporter. He and Kim will be at the forefront in trying to terminate the looming catastrophic attack.
Meanwhile, Park Byung-eun (Seobok) portrays the leader of the Defense Security Support Command who is tasked to uncover the connection between the two similar terrorist threats. Family Affair (2019) actress Lee Sang-hee has been cast as a senior officer of the Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) squad and wife of the second-in-command.
Completing the all-star lineup is Jo Dal-hwan (The Box) as a Navy senior officer with a mysterious past. He is described to have gone through drastic changes in his life, which led him to become the mood maker of the crew he is now a part of.
Decibel is helmed by director Hwang In-ho of Monster (2014), deemed as one of South Korea’s best cross-genre crafters. Filming for the movie kicked off on April 20.
