KBS2’s upcoming series Someone Else’s Happy House (literal title) is eyeing actor Kim Kyung-nam for the male lead role opposite prospective leading lady Jeon Hye-bin.
Kim’s agency JR Entertainment announced on October 12, “Kim Kyung-nam has received an offer to star as a protagonist and is reviewing it.”
Someone Else’s Happy House is set to be a family weekend drama by famous screenwriter Moon Young-nam, who previously penned the scripts for Three Brothers (2009–2010), Live in Style (2011–2012), Wang’s Family (2013–2014), Our Gab-soon (2016–2017), and Liver or Die (2019).
Kim Kyung-nam is being tapped to play the role of Han Ye-seul, an aspiring rocker who instead becomes a successful trot singer in Tokyo. Following his small-screen debut in the drama Faith (2012), Kim portrayed memorable characters in Hello, My Twenties! (2016), Prison Playbook (2017–2018), Where Stars Land (2018), and Special Labor Inspector Mr. Jo (2019). Recently, he grabbed the international spotlight for his role in SBS’s hit romantic-fantasy series The King: Eternal Monarch (2020).
More details about the drama’s plotline as well as its characters remain to be revealed, but should Kim decide to join the cast, he is expected to display unparalleled onscreen chemistry with Leverage actress Jeon Hye-bin, who has been offered the role of female protagonist Lee Kwang-sik.
Someone Else’s Happy House will be spearheaded by director Lee Jin-seo of The Fugitive of Joseon (2013) and targets to air in March 2021.
