Kim Kang-hoon in talks along with Kim Sang-kyung, Tang Jun-sang to join drama by ‘Prison Playbook’ writer

Child actor Kim Kang-hoon is reportedly a casting pick for Racket Boys, an upcoming sports-themed series that will air on SBS.

The series is written by Jung Bo-hoon, the writer behind the hit drama Prison Playbook, and will take the viewers into the highly competitive world of badminton. According to past reports, the production is also courting Miss Lee (2019) star Kim Sang-kyung and Crash Landing on You (2020) star Tang Jun-sang to play the main leads, although both actors have yet to accept the casting offer. If they accept, Kim Sang-kyung and Tang Jun-sang will play the two central characters, while Kim Kang-hoon will play a member of the badminton club of a middle school in Haenam.

Despite his young age, Kim Kang-hoon has been consistently gaining recognition for his acting performances in various series, such as in the 2019 Baeksang Daesang (Grand Prize) awardee When the Camellia Blooms, where his young character, Kang Pil-gu, became a fan favorite. He has also appeared in other notable series, including Pride and Prejudice (2014–2015), Criminal Minds (2017), Mr. Sunshine (2018), Hotel del Luna (2019), Kingdom 2 (2020), and most recently, Start-Up (2020).

Racket Boys is slated to premiere in May 2021.

It was Princess Lulu who first introduced her to Korean dramas but it was Yoon Ji-hoo from Boys Over Flowers who enticed her to stay in K-dramaland. She writes news and features for Kdramapal, which combines two of her most favorite things in the world—writing and K-dramas (look who's living the dream). The name Luna literally translates to "moon" and nothing special; she just likes writing at night.
