Rookie actor Kim Jae-young has joined the cast of OCN’s upcoming fantasy drama titled Black. He will be joining Song Seung-heon and Go Ara, the lead cast of the drama about a grim reaper and the woman he has fallen in love with.
Kim Jae-young debuted in acting through the 2013 film No Breathing in which he played a supporting role. He got his first supporting role in a drama the following year in Blade Man. Since then, he appeared in one drama every year, playing supporting characters in I Remember You (2015), The Master of Revenge (2016), and most recently in My Secret Romance (2017). Despite being a newcomer in the industry, Kim Jae-young has always had a good acting performance in every drama he starred in.
Black is fantasy crime drama that centers on Han Moo-kang (played by Song Seung-heon), a grim reaper who gets punished after falling in love with a woman by having all of his memories erased in the world. His character has two nicknames, “Grim Reaper of Criminals” and “Man in Black,” and is known among his colleagues for staying expressionless when seeing gory crime scenes. Meanwhile, Go Ara is most likely to play the role of the human woman who will fall in love with him.
The upcoming drama is the fifth original series of cable network OCN this year, following Voice, Tunnel, Duel, and Save Me. It is penned by God’s Gift: 14 Day‘s writer Choi Ran and will be directed by PD Kim Hong-sun, the director who has been recently announced to be the one who will direct the drama adaptation of a popular webtoon featuring zombies. It will premiere in October after Save Me ends its run and will be followed by the highly anticipated second season of Bad Guys.
