Kim Hyun-joo and Ji Jin-hee might team up for a new drama!
The two actors are in talks to headline the JTBC remake of the BBC mystery series Undercover. Kim Hyun-joo’s agency, YNK Entertainment, said on May 4 that the actress is considering the offer.
Undercover will tell the story of a brilliant lawyer who has been defending a prisoner on the death row for twenty years, falsely charged with murder. Just as she is about to be promoted to a high-ranking position, she discovers that the man she is married to has been hiding his real identity.
If Kim Hyun-joo accepts the casting offer, she will be taking on the role of Choi Yeon-soo, a human rights lawyer who relentlessly pursues justice and truth. Kim was last seen in OCN’s 2019 crime drama Watcher.
Meanwhile, Ji Jin-hee has been offered the role of Choi Yeon-soo’s husband Han Jae-hyun, a man haunted by his secret past that is now resurfacing and is threatening to destroy his family. This will be the actor’s first project since headlining tvN’s 2019 political drama Designated Survivor: 60 Days.
Kim and Ji previously worked together in SBS’ 2015-2016 family melodrama I Have a Lover.
