SBS has revealed the first poster of its upcoming legal drama Hyena starring Kim Hye-soo and Ju Ji-hoon.
Hyena tells the story of two elite lawyers who work exclusively with the richest people in Korea. Kim Hye-soo’s (Signal) character relentlessly chases after money and status, not caring about justice, ethics, or morality. Ju Ji-hoon (Item) plays a young lawyer with a brilliant mind, who twists laws to cater to his ego and win cases. Things heat up when these two “hyenas” happen to clash with each other because of a case.
In the poster, Kim Hye-soo and Ju Ji-hoon are sitting on the windowsill, with light coming from the huge windows behind them and the letter “H” emblazoned in between the pillars, possibly referring to the first letter in Hyena. Kim Hye-soo, dressed in a crisp formal suit, wearing heels, and sporting a short bob haircut, is surrounded by law books as she sits with her chin raised arrogantly. Ju Ji-hoon, on the other side, is also dressed in formal attire and can be seen holding the Lady Justice. Together, the two give off an intimidating vibe of lawyers that are not to be trifled with.
Meanwhile, SBS had dropped a teaser for the upcoming series at the start of the year, featuring the leads in fascinating situations that were both funny and dramatic. The teaser juxtaposes clips of the two highly competitive lawyers with those of a hyena in the wild, as a deadpan voice of a news anchor compares their behaviors.
Directed by Jang Tae-yoo (My Love From The Star), Hyena will premiere on February 21 and become available for streaming on Netflix one hour after its original broadcast in Korea. It will replace the ongoing Friday-Saturday drama Hot Stove League starring Namgoong Min and Park Eun-bin.
