Kim Hye-soo clashes with Ju Ji-hoon in new teaser, posters for ‘Hyena’

SBS has unveiled the second round of promotional materials for its upcoming legal drama Hyena.

Hyena stars Kim Hye-soo (Signal) and Ju Ji-hoon (Item) as two elite prosecutors who only work for the top 1% of the richest people in South Korea. The two routinely blur the lines between ethics and morality, justice and injustice, to win cases for their clients. While Kim Hye-soo’s character is a ruthless woman on the quest to acquire money, Ju Ji-hoon plays a brilliant young lawyer who specializes in finding loopholes to help his clients evade the law. Despite the similarities in their style of working, Kim’s and Ju’s characters routinely clash.

The 31-second teaser opens with comedic fighting music as Kim Hye-soo and Ju Ji-hoon stare at each other menacingly. They then proceed to engage in an intense physical fight, grabbing, biting, and kicking at each other— destroying the office in the process. The teaser ends with a surprising twist when Kim grabs Ju by his tie, bending down towards him and making it look like she’s about to kiss him. This raises doubts about the duo’s relationship in the show—are they simply rivals or is there a possibility of romance lurking beneath the surface?

Meanwhile, the new posters for the series also feature the ending scene from the teaser with minor changes. Kim Hye-soo is seen grabbing Ju Ji-hoon’s hair while he grabs her collar, but the two are so close that it looks like they are about to kiss. The poster and teaser both serve to highlight the leading pair’s electric chemistry.

Hyena is directed by Jang Tae-yoo, who co-directed the hit 2013 fantasy rom-com My Love From The Star. It is set to premiere on February 21 and will be available to stream on Netflix one hour after its original telecast.
