Kim Ha-neul, Kam Woo-sung offered lead roles in JTBC’s ‘The Wind Blows’

JTBC drama The Wind Blows is courting actors Kim Ha-neul and Kam Woo-sung for the lead roles.

The Wind Blows tells the story of a man who decides to divorce his wife after discovering that he has early-onset Alzheimer’s, and a woman who divorces her husband in order to have children. The couple reunites after 6 years, and the events that transpire after their reunion is the focus of the drama.

Kim Ha-neul was last seen in KBS2’s On The Way To The Airport opposite Lee Sang-yoon in 2016. After wrapping up the drama, she took a break from the industry to give birth to her daughter. If she takes the role, she will be returning to the small screen after three years. Her agency, Sidus HQ, confirmed that she is positively reviewing the offer to play Soo Jin, a woman who shows immense love and dedication towards her husband who has Alzheimer’s disease.

Actor Kam Woo-sung released a similar statement through his agency, 8D Creative. He is being courted to play the man who is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and has to make the difficult decision of leaving his wife. The actor starred in SBS’ Should We Kiss First with Kim Sun-ah last year, for which he received the Grand Prize at the 26th SBS Drama Awards and Top Excellence Award at the 11th Korea Drama Awards.

Director Jung Jung-hwa of 2013’s Bel-Ami and Flower Boy Next Door will be teaming up with screenwriter Hwang Joo-ha of 2015’s Mrs. Cop for The Wind Blows, which is expected to air in May 2019.
