Kim Go-eun‘s upcoming office romance drama Yumi’s Cells is in talks for broadcast under tvN.
According to the announcement made by tvN to the media on March 26, they are now discussing the proposal of including the drama in their formation and broadcast schedule.
Yumi’s Cells is based on a popular Naver webtoon of the same name by Lee Dong-gun. The story is about an ordinary office worker in her 30s named Yumi, to be played by The King: Eternal Monarch (2020) star Kim Go-eun. She is passionate about her work, but she has little conviction and cannot express herself well. Her life is narrated through the eyes of the cells in her head that control her thoughts, actions, and feelings. Earlier this month, it was reported that Kairos (2020) star Ahn Bo-hyun received a casting offer to star alongside Kim as her leading man.
The drama is scheduled to begin filming in the first half of the year. PD Lee Sang-yeob of My Holo Love (2020) and A Piece of Your Mind (2020) will be spearheading the production, with the help of writers Song Jae-jung (Memories of the Alhambra, W: Two Worlds Apart), Kim Yoon-joo (Find Me in Your Memory, Duel), and rookie Kim Kyung-ran, who will pen the script.
