Kim Bum, Jo Bo-ah, Lee Dong-wook at script reading for ‘Tale of the Nine Tailed,’ to air in October

Stars of tvN’s upcoming drama Tale of the Nine Tailed gathered for a script-reading session. The candid stills from the event were released on August 12.

The leads of the show—Lee Dong-wook (Strangers from Hell), Jo Bo-ah (Forest), and Kim Bum (Mrs. Cop 2)—were joined by director Kang Shin-hyo and screenwriter Han Woo-ri, as well as supporting actors Kim Yong-ji (The King: Eternal Monarch), Hwang Hee (Doctor John), and Ahn Gil-kang (Memorials), among others.

Tale of the Nine Tailed is a fantasy action drama depicting a romance between a nine-tailed fox or gumiho and a TV producer. The show will be a mishmash of several genres and present an exciting mix of action sequences and fantastical visuals against the backdrop of the love story.

Lee Dong-wook will play the role of gumiho Lee Yeon, who used to be a mountain god and now works as some sort of public official. He can turn into a human and settles in the city to clean up after those who create havoc. He crosses paths with Nam Ji-ah, producer for a variety show on urban myths, who is taken in by his chic attitude and irresistible charisma. Nam Ji-ah chases after Lee Yeon to convince him to guest on her show, and in the process, develops doubts about Lee Yeon’s real identity and becomes entangled with him.

Kim Bum, who is returning to the small screen after a gap of four years, will play Lee Yeon’s half-brother Lee Rang, who is part-human and part-gumiho. Lee Rang is filled with contempt for humans and plays dangerous tricks with them to entertain himself. With his dangerous and unpredictable nature, Lee Rang will be a major source of conflict in the drama.

Tale of the Nine Tailed, also Tale of the Nine-Tailed Fox, is set to air in October. It will be spearheaded by Kang Shin-hyo and Han Woo-ri, who previously collaborated on the 2018 supernatural thriller Children of a Lesser God.
