Keum Sae-rok to headline upcoming film by ‘Itaewon Class’ writer

Keum Sae-rok has been cast as the heroine of the new film Cabriole, the actress’ agency UL Entertainment revealed in a news report on September 7.

Cabriole (working title) will center on Oh Ji-ah, a sociable and diligent woman who keeps a good working relationship with her subordinates and her boss. However, Ji-ah feels that she has lost sense of herself in the process of trying her best to work with others. Triggered by her rebellious streak and burned-out feeling, she drops everything, tosses everything she owns in her car, and goes on a wandering trip. Keum has signed up to tell the tale as Oh Ji-ah.

Keum Sae-rok has been slowly building her silver-screen repertoire since landing her debut minor role in the 2015 mystery-thriller The Silenced. She has since taken part in other popular films such as Love, Lies (2016), The Last Princess (2016), and The Spy Gone North (2018). The actress is also no stranger to television projects. Apart from gaining attention for her roles in Marry Me Now (2018) and Class of Lies (2019), her notable performance as a rookie detective in the comedy crime drama The Fiery Priest also earned her the recognition of Best New Actress at the 2019 SBS Drama Awards.

Cabriole will be directed and written by Gwang Jin, the author of the webtoon Itaewon Class and the screenwriter of its hit 2020 drama adaptation. The film is scheduled to crank up its production this September.
