Weeks before the anticipated premiere of her new series, tvN confirmed that actress Kang Han-na will be making a cameo appearance in the ongoing Monday and Tuesday drama Record of Youth.
The coming of age and romance drama follows young aspiring individuals in their journey towards success in the Korean entertainment industry as well as in life, friendship, failures, and romance. It stars Park Bo-gum (Encounter) as the hardworking and optimistic Sa Hye-joon who dreams of becoming an actor, Park So-dam (Cinderella and the Four Knights) as the straightforward but determined make-up artist Ahn Jeong-ha, and Byun Woo-seok (Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency) as the rookie star Won Hae-hyo who wants to make a name for himself through his own hard work without the help of his family’s influential background.
Kang Han-na has reportedly finished filming her part in the series, as she is also set to star in another upcoming tvN series Start-Up, alongside stars Bae Suzy (Vagabond), Nam Joo-hyuk (The School Nurse Files), and Kim Seon-ho (Catch the Ghost). The series will air on October 17.
The actress has played many roles since her television debut back in 2013, but it was not until her antagonist role in the popular fantasy sageuk (historical drama) Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo (2016) that she started gaining attention as an actress. She last appeared in the political thriller series Designated Survivor: 60 Days (2019).
Aside from Kang, Park Seo-joon (Itaewon Class) has also confirmed his special appearance in Record of Youth. They are set to follow Seo Hyun-jin (Black Dog), who has already made her cameo in the drama.
Kim Sun-tae from the production staff said, “Due to the story of the main characters, various other stories in the entertainment world are dealt with, and we put in a lot of effort into special appearances to portray these stories as lively and realistically as possible.”
