K-drama Ratings: November 2, 2020

Penthouse continues to lead the viewership race on Mondays and Tuesdays, achieving a new record high of 11.4 percent in its second week. It aired two episodes last night, unlike last week when it had to air three episodes per night to accommodate its 100-minute long broadcast***.

Kairos, which premiered last week along with Penthouse, still hovers around the 3 percent mark.

On Cable TV, Birthcare Center recorded a decent 4.2 percent. The new 8-episode drama stars Uhm Ji-won, Park Ha-sun, and Choi Ri.

***Prime-time dramas on free-to-air TV channels (KBS2, MBC, and SBS) air twice a week for two episodes per night. This explains why Nielsen Korea reports two (2) viewership ratings for such dramas. But essentially, these episodes are “parts” of a night’s broadcast, so some other media outlets ignore the 2-episode-per-night arrangement. Even Netflix does the same, displaying 16 episodes of Hyena on its platform although SBS aired 32 episodes of the drama.
