Actress Jung Yoo-jin might join the cast of Netflix’s upcoming Korean original drama Bride of Black.
On June 17, various media outlets revealed that Jung recently confirmed her participation in the project. However, her agency FNC Entertainment clarified through an official statement, “No decision has been made yet regarding Jung Yoo-jin’s appearance in Bride of Black.“
Revolving around remarriage information companies for the upper-class society, Bride of Black is described as a realistic satire that will focus on the process by which people choose their desires while believing they have chosen love.
Jung Yoo-jin is being courted to play Jin Yoo-hee, a lawyer who works for a large corporation that aims to become top of its class. Yoo-hee is beautiful and irresistible, but she becomes really dangerous when messed with.
Previously, Jung gained positive attention for her performances in the series Something in the Rain (2018), Still 17 (2018), Romance Is a Bonus Book (2019), and Catch the Ghost (2019). If the 32-year-old artist decides to go for the offered role, Bride of Black will serve as her second upcoming drama project, following JTBC’s Snowdrop.
Earlier news reports revealed that actresses Kim Hee-sun (Alice) and Cha Ji-yeon (Taxi Driver) also received proposals to appear in the drama, whereas Mine (2021) actor Lee Hyun-wook has already confirmed to portray the male protagonist.
Bride of Black is penned by screenwriter Lee Geun-young of I Am the Mother Too (2018). The drama is currently wrapping up its casting phase and is targeting an exclusive release on Netflix in 2022.
