Jung Joon-ho, Park Ho-san to join upcoming tvN series ‘True Beauty’ as fathers of lead cast

Jung Joon-ho and Park Ho-san have been officially cast in the upcoming webtoon-based drama True Beauty.

On September 1, Jung’s agency Lionheart Entertainment announced, “Jung Joon-ho will appear in the new tvN drama True Beauty, which is scheduled for broadcast in the second half of this year.” During the same day, Park’s agency Lighthouse said, “Actor Park Ho-san is going to join the series as a charming middle-aged man with an unusual fashion sense, so please look forward to it.”

True Beauty follows the story of Im Ju-gyeong, an insecure and shy high school student who became a social media star and the prettiest girl in school overnight with the help of makeup. To maintain her celebrity status, she refuses to show her bare face to anyone and maintains lies about herself. She eventually falls for the only one who has seen her bare face, Lee Su-ho, who turned out to be another campus celebrity. It stars Moon Ga-young (Find Me in Your Memory), Cha Eun-woo (Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung), and Hwang In-yeop (The Tale of Nokdu).

Jung has signed up to play the role of Lee Joo-heon, the father of Lee Su-ho (Cha Eun-woo). As a veteran actor who has been working since 1995, he has participated in many popular series, including Princess Lulu (2005), Mama (2014), Flowers of the Prison (2016), SKY Castle (2018), The Tale of Nokdu (2019), and the most recent, in Backstreet Rookie (2020) with a cameo appearance.

Meanwhile, Park will be playing the father of Im Ju-gyeong, Im Dae-soo. He is a little short of abilities, so he is not good at making money, but he loves his children so much, particularly Moon Ga-young’s character, Ju-gyeong. He understands her personality and feelings, especially as she is often compared to her older sister. Park has also taken on many roles in the past, such as in Prison Playbook (2017–2018), My Mister (2018), Lawless Lawyer (2018), Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency (2019), Extracurricular (2020), and the most recent, a mysterious role in Dinner Mate (2020).

As such, expectations are set on the two actors, who have repeatedly transformed and proved themselves with their portrayals of the roles they have been given in previous projects.

True Beauty is set for broadcast later this year.

It was Princess Lulu who first introduced her to Korean dramas but it was Yoon Ji-hoo from Boys Over Flowers who enticed her to stay in K-dramaland. She writes news and features for Kdramapal, which combines two of her most favorite things in the world—writing and K-dramas (look who's living the dream). The name Luna literally translates to "moon" and nothing special; she just likes writing at night.
