Jung Il-woo, Kang Ji-young, Lee Hak-joo look cozy in main poster for new drama ‘Sweet Munchies’

JTBC’s new rom-com Sweet Munchies has dropped a new poster featuring its main cast Jung Il-woo, Kang Ji-young, and Lee Hak-joo.

Sweet Munchies, also known as Late Night Snack Man and Woman, will tell the story of late-night snack restaurant owner and chef Park Jin-sung (Jung Il-woo), variety show production director (PD) Kim Ah-jin (Kang Ji-young), and successful designer Kang Tae-wan (Lee Hak-joo). When Jin-sung participates in a variety show, he finds himself involved in a love triangle with Ji-young and Tae-wan, with his secret taking the romance to an unpredictable path.

While the poster sets the characters against the bright orange background, their stories are not as cheery. Jin-sung is harboring a secret, Ah-jin is struggling with the uncertainty of her job, and Tae-wan, while envied by many, is deeply troubled and carries a burden. Nonetheless, the poster reflects the characters’ optimism despite life’s adversities. Throughout the series, they will lean on and seek solace in each other, slowly sparking the romance among the three.

The production team said that the poster aims to show “the light and warm energy created by three people with distinct charms” and asked the viewers to await how the characters’ love triangle would turn out and what Jin-sung’s secret is. The viewers can look forward to the drama’s refreshing and exciting story.

Jung last starred in the 2019 SBS historical drama Haechi and Kang in the 2019 Japanese series And, Live. Meanwhile, Lee is currently cast in the JTBC megahit The World of the Married, with two episodes left to air.

Sweet Munchies is spearheaded by director Song Ji-won (The King 2hearts) and screenwriter Park Seung-hye (A Man Called God). It is set to premiere on May 25 as a Monday-Tuesday drama, replacing When the Weather Is Fine.
